Who We Are

Our History

Friends of Yarmouth (FOY) was founded in 2015 as the Yarmouth Community Center (YCC) by community members committed to creating and enhancing spaces where the Yarmouth community can come together. From the beginning, the organization played a key role in collaborating with the Town of Yarmouth to develop a long-term vision for transforming the Masonic Temple at 20 Mill Street into a vibrant and sustainable gathering place.

Today, FOY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fostering community connection by working in partnership with the town and other civic organizations to activate and improve shared spaces.

In 2025, YCC evolved into Friends of Yarmouth, reflecting an important shift in approach: a belief that Yarmouth’s future is best supported not by building new structures, but by making fuller, more creative use of the buildings we already have.
